BMW 3 series E30 (1982-1991)

   The E30 was the basic 3 series compact executive car for the 1982 through 1991 year (E30 cabriolet was produced until 1993). It was the successor of BMW 3 series E21. The E30 was produced in a four and two door saloons, a five door touring version, and a two door convertible. A Baur coachbuilder also offered restyled cabriolet version. From 1988 325ix "off-road" all wheel drive version was produced, available as a two door saloon or a four door sedan.
   E30 was the first platform which introduced the M3 series, it used the widened and redesigned version of two door body. M3 cabriolets was offered for European market only and was not officialy sold on USA and Canada markets.
   In 1987 BMW Z1 roadster was build on widened E30 suspension and the drivetrain from the E30 325i.
