Few words about BMW 6 series:

The 6 series is a BMW luxury grand tourer cars, beginning with BMW E24 (1977), derived from BMW 7 series in E23 scaled down body. In 1976 BMW was interested to replace BMW 3.0CS and 3.0CSi (E9) sporty coupes with more luxury and stylish body, and E24 was able to do so. The 6 series E24 was produced until 1989.
In 2003, 14 years after BMW E24 production ceased, BMW released second generation of 6 series - BMW E63/E64, based on BMW 5 series E60 chassis. Since that time, BMW decide to launching new 6 series without breaks, and the third generation - F12/F13/F06 was released in 2011.
