The E28 was the first generation of BMW 5 series to produce the M5 and offer it to European and American markets. United States car market actually was blazed with the first M5s with its dynamic. American M5 E28 equipped with 256hp, while the European M5 had 286hp engine.
BMW was offering 10 modifications of E28 in Europe and 6 (excluded models was 518, 518i, 520i and 528e) in North America, and European models produced more horsepower compared to US E28 modifications.
