BMW R90s was the first motorcycle to have innovational full body fairings, which functions as an aerodynamic channel. The R90s was the first BMW superbike: it had higher compression pistons (9.5:1), 38mm Dell'Orto accelerator-pump carbs, twin disc brakes, a sleek seat with a plastic hump, a curvaceous bikini fairing and two-tone Silver Smoke paint. From 1973 to 1976, 17,455 R90S models were sold, and later, in 1977 R90s was replaced by BMW R100s.
