BMW is known for its luxurious automobiles; they have a timeless style, superior handling, and the best of German design. They will run forever with regularly scheduled maintenance performed. Unfortunately, with a price tag of $80,000 plus, most people can only wish to actually own the car of their dreams.
One way to own this majestic vehicle is to purchase a used BMW. As previously stated, they have a timeless style and will run forever when properly maintained. The requirements for purchasing a good used BMW are quite simple:
- Get a carfax report
- Have a mechanical inspection done
- Don’t purchase if the body has major damage
That’s it! Passing these tests will insure that you are getting a well running vehicle.
My favorite is the 1994 750i. With the M70 engine, 300hp and acceleration from 0-60 in 7.4s you have all the speed you desire. They handle beautifully, provide a luxurious ride and they are large enough to accommodate a family.
Owning a used BMW affords the ability to add car accessories to make the car appear newer, or unique. Start with a paint job, any color that you like and will not clash with the interior of the car. (If you are considering adding a body kit that will change the look of the car, add the body kit before you paint. All body kits come in flat-black primer.)
Many other car accessories are available to ‘dress and impress’ with your car. These accessories include such items as BMW wheels, under-lighting, halo headlights, spoilers and a myriad of other options to make your car unique. A set of new BMW wheels really upgrades the look of the car. The styles available in wheels now are beautiful and will definitely enhance the vehicle and draw the eye of anyone nearby.
I personally have upgraded my ’94 750i with several accessories, including a new set of BMW wheels; I really enjoy the look of my car, and all the positive comments I receive from others.
